Murray Rowland, a New Zealand certified diesel mechanic having spent 16 years servicing the earthmoving industry, saw the need for a specialist to service the ever increasing population of hydraulic excavator final drives.
Travel Motors Direct established in 1988 successfully entered the market supplying new travel motors, new parts at very competitive prices and a repair facility capable of refurbishing final drives to factory standards.
With an increasing demand from Australia for a similar service center, Travel Motors Direct expanded Internationally in 2004 setting up in Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia.
The company’s cliental base rapidly increased along with the stock holding, not to mention the new makes of final drive now used by excavator manufacturers around the globe.
